QMJHL 2017 ENTRY DRAFT The QMJHL Annual Session will be held from Wednesday to Saturday this week (May 31 to June 3). It’s the first time the annual session and entry draft have been conducted in Saint John.

The four days of activities will culminate on Saturday, with the annual entry draft. This not-to-be-missed event is open to the general public and there is no admission charge. Parking in the Harbour Station lot will also be free.

The draft will begin at 10 a.m. sharp. Because of live television coverage, fans are being encouraged to be in their seats by 9:45 a.m. Hockey enthusiasts who are familiar with the annual NHL draft will be amazed at how closely the QMJHL draft mirrors the National Hockey League version.

"The QMJHL Entry Draft is by far the most extravagant CHL draft, replicating what the NHL does. All 18 QMJHL teams will have a table on the floor while players from all over Eastern Canada will be in attendance hoping to hear their names called. “The 2017 QMJHL Annual Session and Entry Draft will be a great way for us to showcase future NHL stars and talented hockey players in Saint John,” said Gilles Courteau, QMJHL president. “We are all looking forward to bringing together our owners, governors, general managers, coaches, athletic therapists, counselors and marketing directors to the city for what I am sure will be an unforgettable week.”
